Beginner Guide

1. Understand the round

Every match splits 2–10 players into Hiders and Seekers. Hiders get a paint phase, then hide. Seekers hunt in first person — no flashlight. Survive the timer as a Hider, or clear the map as a Seeker.

2. Paint to the scene, not to the object

Pick one material family on the map (hay, plush, office furniture, painted wall) and copy its base color first. Matching the environment beats copying a single prop: Seekers sweep known props first.

3. Match silhouette before detail

Your height and outline must belong to the scene before color matters. Crouch or stand near objects of your size — a perfect paint job with a wrong silhouette still gets spotted.

4. Audit the approach route

Before the timer ends, imagine the Seeker's path and look at your spot from that angle. A disguise that works up close can fail from the doorway or a far lane.

5. Move only when unseen

Movement is the #1 giveaway. Freeze when a Seeker looks your way; relocate only when their back is turned and no one else is watching.

6. As a Seeker: sweep in a pattern

Don't chase first impressions. Divide the map into lanes, walk each lane once looking for silhouettes and 'too clean' areas, and use the whistle to force reactions from suspects.
